LA STPO

Mit ihrer gelegentlich als Eisenfaust im Samthandschuh beschriebenen Musik hat die „Gesellschaft der Schüchternen bei der Vogelparade“ – so die wörtliche Übersetzung des Bandnamens – aus Rennes (F) nichts wirklich Schüchternes an sich. Elemente aus Jazz und Neoklassik weben sich selbstbewusst in komplexe Rockkompositionen, die man am ehesten mit Henry Cow oder Fred Frith’s Soloauftritten mit Band vergleichen kann. Lyrischer Romantizismus trifft auf den ungefilterten Ausdruck von Seelenqualen und ungläubigem Erstaunen angesichts des Zustandes der Welt. Dem Zuhörer wird nichts geschenkt, aber dank perfekter Instrumentenbeherrschung ist das Ergebnis dennoch eher „Hochkultur“ als „vertontes Chaos“.

LIMITED LIABILITY SOUNDS is the name of the Polish ambient/electronic musician Adam Mankowski. Project is active since 2006, when appeared first official CD-R release, titled – “So Hysterical!”. The name „Limited Liability Sounds“ is a kind of protest against the treatment of noise as a phenomenon that does not deserve the term as a musical genre. Mankowski always claimed that the noise is something natural, which has always accompanied man and has the same rights as silence. Music from the sign LLS is a mixture of drones, experimental electronics, ambient, sometimes noise and field recordings. For the last three years he has been working with a few skillful artists producers as Ishida Naoki (Japan), Stoned Wire (Hungary), Dao De Noize (Ukraine), Gimu (Brazil) and Luca Asari (Italy).

Norbert Stammberger:
* 1958, Coburg, lives and works in Munich.
Saxophonist, freelance composer and improviser, Master of Arts in Philosophy, founder of the GNU Records & Publishing and manager of KlangBuero(SoundOffice), Munich.

In the early 1980s Norbert R. Stammberger worked with the musicians like Chris Karrer of the German Kraut-Rock-Bands like Amon Düül II, Popol Vuh and Embryo. In this time he met Mal Waldron and worked with him for some performances with his Big Band sheets „The Secret Agent Suite“ and „Shingen Takeda Suite“. Then, in the 1990s, he met Fred Frith for a Fire-Sound-Performance in Munich. For a commissioned work for the Jewish Culture Center Berlin he came together with Allen Ginsberg for using his text „The Fall of America“ in a performance with the New York based Rock Band Klazmetics. In 2003 Norbert R. Stammberger played the „Werner-Luedi-Memorial-Concert“ together with the German Free Jazz musician Peter Brötzmann.

In the last 10 years Norbert R. Stammberger worked with the Beograd Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Bavarian Rundfunkorchester München, his own Ensembles Mambo Varèse, Torino Blackout DBL BTR and Tribal Error; There was also a Japantour with the Stammberger Pultz Melbye Tavil Trio and many other concerts like the Duo Stammberger Okuda, Stammberger Rettich (KlangBuero vs. Rettnoise) or Stammberger Despotakis, all exclusively in the free improvised way.
Since 2012 Norbert R. Stammberger is based in Munich with his KlangBuero(SoundOffice) for sampling unheard-of and strongly wanted sounds.

Muyassar Kurdi (NYC): ‘Completely concentrated upon her bizarre ritual, the singer – dressed in black – emits tortured vocalisations and cries worthy of Yoko Ono in full flight… It’s incredibly in­your­face and perturbing but makes you smile too: the sheer pleasure of making a racket.’ -L ’ A l s a c e ( F r a n c e )

In performance, she explores the relationship between abstract sound and meta­primordial movement, obliquely confronting ideas of masculine subjugation by re­appropriating and then distorting hegemonically sexualised figurative motion and juxtaposing it with random, abrasive and jarring acoustic and electronic sound components along with wordless vocalisations.
A joyfully self­exorcizing ritualist, Kurdi studied voice and dance with legendary vocalist, dancer and ECM recording artist Meredith Monk via The House Foundation for the Arts as well as learning Japanese dance tradition Butoh with Tadashi Endo, director of the Butoh Center MAMU and Butoh Festivals in Germany, and Mexican master of the form Diego Piñon.

Tóth Kína Hegyfalu are two Hungarian experimental musicians and visual artists – Kinga Toth (visual-and sound poet, extensive vocal: www.tothkinga.blogspot.de) and Normal Gergely (fine artist, guitar, keyboard: www.normalgergely.tk).They play in experimental-noise style with folk and dark ambient elements. Their performances contain improvised and instictive sounds and harsh guitar noises, The distorted industrial instrumentation (guitar, keyboard, flut) serving as counterpoint and complement to Kinga’s poetry, which takes the form of aggressive growls and wails. Their work is characterized by alienation and sometimes their sounding makes the listener feel uncomfortable.

LDX#40

…is an audio/visual project with many faces.

The musical side experiments with the abilities of the Commodore C64’s SID chip to create multi-layered soundscapes. LDX#40 staggers along the thin line between the twin mine fields of experimental and pop music, occasionally setting off noisy explosions on both sides.

The visual side is a monochromatic trip through artifical worlds, the demo scene’s alien landscapes and subject matter involuntarily bubbling up from the subconscious… processed through a mind fed on all kinds of celluloid – and video – banalities and extremities.

No two live performances are the same – each one is created according to the prevalent conditions, moods and interests. The entity LDX#40 is moving – continously morphing and shifting – towards a still unknown destination…

Besides his personal work, LDX#40 is also co-founder of and active with Phonophon, the leading concert series for experimental music in the Rhein-Main area.

Eigenidyll sind Sascha Stadlmeier (EMERGE, Augsburg) und Tobias Schmitt (Suspicion Breeds Confidence, Frankfurt). Für dieses Projekt bewegen sie sich aus ihren jeweiligen rein elektronischen Komfortzonen, um als „Gitarrenduo“ zu improvisieren. Dabei werden die Sounds der Gitarren mittels der jeweiligen Processing- und Loop-Maschinerie bearbeitet. Die unterschiedlichen Herangehensweisen bzgl. Verwendung der Instrumente und der Verfremdung der Klänge verschmelzen schlußendlich zu etwas eigenartig Neuem.

An audio-plastic performance for five gravitational synths and one live body, performed at the twilight of the evolution. (Author and engineer: Vlad Kreimer)

„Audio-plastic“ means that a specially developed equipment makes my body a musical interface. This setup is designed and created by myself and is called SOUDABO (Sound, Dance, Body). It’s a system of analogue synthesis controlled by position and motion of the body. Through a system of accelerometers and other sensors using the effects of gravity and inertia, the body’s plastics turn into a musical score.

Vlad is winner of world remix competition at 2000 conducted by intermusic website.

Vlad was born in 1974. He has technical education (department of automatics and telemechanics of Donetsk polytechnical institute) , married, has son.

Robert Sipos, born 1974, first met techno at the end of the 90s; initially visited clubs, parties, absorbed the music and listened. Almost became a second home to the 1999 opening Supersonic Polytechnic, and related techno events. Those important and noteworthy for his professional life were DJ Grega, who unwittingly pointed the way towards techno, and Mixer Smith, who gave the first major technical equipment. Noisesculptor is unbroken since its inception, representative of this line which is not exactly popular: techno primarily within industrial and dark line moving – doggedly trying to stay underground, as far as possible these days… In addition to mixing the music, editing really is what fascinated him, looking and researching new sound. His music is both modern and ancient: from the era when music was born instinct, sounds, feelings…

Several publishers discussed – and discuss today. In 2011, Robert appeared on Mixer Smith’s tel joint debut album, titled „General Effect“, which is now the well-known not only in Europe but also in many countries of the world (Japan, USA), and appeared on the popular www.audioexit.com label. Subsequently began to draw attention to it in the domestic and international trade: the requests were mixes, radio shows. His first solo album (Structures) marked with the names of Exigent (PERL Imre) was released on Paradise Gate Records. On the European level, he is well known as a contributor / radio tartva of the Art Style: Techno – Underground Techno magazine. His work has been featured on various compilation discs, and well-known DJs and producers like to use them for their mixes.

After more than thirty years of experimental obscurity, DWM return to Augsburg for their fifth concert ever. Playing under the moniker The DWM Power Trio, they are more guitar oriented than before, as they come home to their roots in the German „Kraut Rock“ scene, adding their usual brand of humour to the experimental mix. Who can resist such song titles as „Kraut Mask Replica“ or „Obscured By Krauts“. A healthy dose of experimental drone will finish their set, as they invite friends to perform with them to close out the evening.

EMERGE lehnt sich an die minimalistischen Traditionen des Experimentalismus und der nicht-akademischen Geräuschmusik an. Der Fokus liegt auf der Generierung von Klanggebilden, die frei interpretierbare Atmosphären an die Oberfläche holen sollen. Die Auswahl der verwendeten Klangquellen ist meist sehr eingeschränkt und die ursprünglichen Klänge selbst durch diverse Verfremdungen höchstens rudimentär erkennbar. Oft wird auch Basismaterial von diversen Künstlern/Musikern verwendet und recycelt.
EMERGE betreibt zudem das Label attenuation circuit und organisiert Konzerte für experimentelle Musik in Augsburg.
